one year of quotes

On Tuesday, my blog will be one year old. I still remember how I felt publishing that first post- a little unsure of myself, very overwhelmed at the idea of starting, but also excited for what was to come. Throughout this past year, this blog has evolved and grown as I have, giving me a place to share my random thoughts, amateur photographs, and various crafting adventures.

One of my favorite practices has been sharing a quote at the beginning of each month. These are not my very favorite quotes, but rather things that have spoken to me at the turn of each month. I love reading over them again and remembering exactly the space I was in as I chose each one. Today I thought I would collect them all into one post. So here they are:

April: a year from now you may wish you had started today (Karen Lamb)

May: comparison is the thief of joy (Theodore Roosevelt)

June: be in love with your life. every minute of it (Jack Kerouac)

July: be kind

August: she believed she could so she did (unknown)

September: life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall (F Scott Fitzgerald)

October: there are far better things ahead than those we leave behind (CS Lewis)

November: there will come a time you'll see, with no more tears // when love will not break your heart but dismiss your fears // get over your hill and see what you find there // with grace in your heart and flowers in your hair (Mumford and Sons)

December: the best thing to hold onto in life is each other" (Audrey Hepburn)

January: all of your life you are told the things you cannot do. all your life they'll say your not good enough or strong enough or talented enough...they will tell you no, all your life they will tell you no. and you will tell them yes (from a Nike ad)

February: we all have the urge to create. to do so is life giving for ourselves and others. (Gabor Mate)

March: courage doesn't always roar. sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying 'I will fix it tomorrow' (Mary Ann Radmacher)
