introducing: coffee shop chats

Recently I've been thinking a lot about my blog- the purpose behind what I write & share here in this space... and I've come to a few conclusions.

The truth is, I love blogging. I love sharing my modest creative endeavors, my daily thoughts and words and amateur photographs. But recently, I've been thinking about how I can take this blog to the next level, how I can incorporate more voices, and talk about things that matter. I know, I know...that sounds so abstract. Things that matter. What does that even mean? Obviously, the point of having a blog, in some ways is to talk about yourself and the things that are important to you. But I guess what I want is more community and connection and discussion surrounding the blog.

I shared last week about my new monthly knitting project, centered around the idea of intentionally supporting fellow knitters and designers in the fiber community. But I started thinking about how I could support makers, artists and creatives that work in mediums very different to the ones I've chosen.

I've been very blessed over the years to meet and befriend a wide range of brilliant creative people. Poets, photographers, song writers, artists, makers, writers, activists, musicians, chefs... there are so many people in my life and wider community who inspire me to live a creative life.

So over the next year or so, I'm hoping to create a monthly (or every 2nd month-ly) series here on the blog, interview style, giving others the chance to tell their amazing stories. Obviously, I'm aware that there are plenty of bloggers out there doing interviews, but I guess I just want to add myself into that mix. I want to explore the creative processes of others, hear their stories, and share them with you.

I'm calling the series coffee shop chats with creatives because I'm hoping the interviews will have a laid-back feel to them, informal- like we're all sitting around in a coffee shop together over steaming mugs, chatting about inspiration & the creative process and hearing the stories of some amazing people.

You guys. I am really REALLY excited about this. Stay tuned for the premier interview on Monday and thank you, as always, for following along.
