more knitting on the big screen

Last Fall, I shared a list of my favorite knits from movies. I had so much fun with this, I thought I would do it again this year. Being married to Waldi has turned me into a big movie fan, and I just love it when there's a bit of knitting inspiration mixed in with a good movie. Here are a few of my recent favorite knitwear pieces from the big screen!

After reading Jane Eyre this summer, I convinced Waldi to watch the movie with me. (Which wasn't all that hard, since he's a big Michael Fastbender fan) I could not get over how many lovely shawls the female characters were wearing, and I think this garter stitch one was perhaps my favorite. (also, there's a pattern!)

I know I mentioned HP in my last list, but there is just so much knitting in those movies! And you've got to love that scene in Order of the Phoenix when Molly Weasley presents everyone with hand knit gifts for Christmas. I think my favorite is perhaps the matching scarves for Fred and George, but it's hard to pick.

One of my favorite Autumn movies has got to be Penelope. I've seen it at least four times! And that scarf...I mean, seriously. (There's a pattern for this one as well!)

So this isn't knit, but I love it too much not to share. We found Seeking a Friend for the End of the World (phew...longest title ever!) at the library one slow afternoon and decided to bring it home and give it a try since we both LOVE Steve Carrell. The movie itself was both funny and thought provoking, and the crochet blanket that Kiera Knightly's character had throughout is simply gorgeous!

and also Sherlock knitting...? that's just awesome.
