Farm House Trivet and Patterns Available!

I am very excited to announce that as of today, PDF Patterns are now available in my shop! For now there are only two knitting patterns for sale, and only in English. Watch this space to stay updated on the release of new patterns and the German translations!

For now, I thought I would celebrate by offering another free "pattern" here. I use quotes because, well...this project is so simple, I am not sure it counts as a pattern! Instructions perhaps? Well, anyway, without further ado, here are the instructions for my Farm House Trivet!

The Farm House Trivet is a simple pattern. It is inspired by a rustic and homey life and designed for practical use at your kitchen table. I use mine for resting warm dishes on while we eat our meals. (NOTE: the trivet is not suitable for handling very hot dishes directly from your oven)

This pattern can be made with or without the loop. I like having a loop on them so I can hang them somewhere in my kitchen for easy access. A set of two hand-knit trivets would make a great house-warming gift!

you will need:

approx 1 50g ball of chunky (4) yarn.
a pair of straight 9mm needles.
a size 7mm crochet hook for the loop.
tapestry needle.

pattern:

cast on 20 stitches
work in garter stitch for 30 rows.
Cast off leaving the last stitch on the needle.
Place remaining stitch on your crochet hook and chain 10.
Cut yarn and pull through last loop on chain. Using a tapestry needle, sew the chain to the top corner of the trivet, forming a loop.
Sew in the ends and you're done!
